THE NEW JERSEY STATE POLICEMEN’S BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION
SURVIVOR & WELFARE FUND
‘The New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association Survivor & Welfare Fund is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing support and survivor benefits to the families of PBA members who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and easing the burden of those officers who are experiencing significant personal hardships. The fund will also administer the NJ COP SHOT program, providing rewards for the arrest and conviction of anyone killing or seriously wounding a law enforcement officer in the state of New Jersey, regardless of union affiliation. The Survivor & Welfare Fund is dedicated to honor the service, bravery, and sacrifice of those who serve and those survivors whose lives are forever changed.’
NJ COP SHOT
As part of the Survivor & Welfare Fund, the NJ State PBA has established a program designed to aid in the capture and conviction of law enforcement assailants. The program offers a $20,000 reward in exchange for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals in relation to officer shooting. The reward will be posted on behalf of any New Jersey officer, regardless of union affiliation.
NJ COP SHOT was put into place when the shooting of an officer in Paterson took days to generate a reward for information. This program provides for the reward to be instantly available, allowing law enforcement officers to generate tips that will eventually lead to an arrest.
LINE OF DUTY DEATH BENEFIT
One of the core benefits the Survivor & Welfare Fund provides to PBA members is the line of duty death benefit. Whether acting as a Law Enforcement office here at home or fighting abroad as a member of the US Military National Guard or Reserve, our members are protected. Survivors of slain officers will receive a $25,000 death benefit.
The Survivor & Welfare Fund is sustained by the generosity of private contributors. Just like the New Jersey State PBA, the fund raises money through various charity events such as golf outings and cocktail receptions. 100 % of donations go directly to the Fund.
The Fund will never resort to telemarketing schemes to generate contributions.
If you are interested in attending a charity event, please contact the Survivor & Welfare Fund at (732) 636-8860.
Support of the Fund is always appreciated. If you are interested in helping our officers and their families in their time of need please mail your donation to:
